Vocalist Sahid Pabon Premieres His Solo Cabaret

WINTER PARK — The popular Spotlight Cabaret Series continues this summer at Winter Park Playhouse, with the public invited to beat the heat in the Playhouse’s well air conditioned lobby in August when vocalist Sahid Pabon takes to the cabaret stage.

Pabon, a regular performer at Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and Seaworld, is coming to the Playhouse to premiere his new solo cabaret. Plot Twist will feature Pabon’s crooning accompanied by the Playhouse’s music director, Christopher Leavy, on piano. The show is on Wednesday, Aug. 21 and Thursday, Aug. 22.

“We are so excited to bring Sahid to the cabaret stage at The Playhouse,” said Heather Alexander, the Playhouse’s executive director. “He is a fabulous entertainer with a fantastic voice and will put on a great show! You won’t want to miss this!”

What is the Solo Cabaret Plot Twist?

The Playhouse previews Pabon’s Plot Twist show by describing it as “a trip through the twists and turns of life that led him to Orlando while performing a variety of well-loved Broadway and pop songs, with a few surprises as well.”

The show will feature an eclectic mix of familiar songs, ranging from Broadway favorites (Brigadoon, Funny Girl) to pop hits of yesteryear.

In addition to his regular performances in the Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration at Disney, Pabon joined the cast at the Playhouse’s recent production of the Neil Sedaka musical Breaking Up Is Hard To Do and in the Playhouse’s recent Florida Festival of New Musicals in June.

Pabon will actually have double billing at The Playhouse in August, when he helps the musical theater kick off its new season by joining the cast of the production 8-Track: Sounds of the ’70s. That show begins the Playhouse’s 2024-2025 Mainstage Series season and runs Aug. 2–25.
