ORLANDO – Those rock hard bods … are back.
The all-male dance and show-off-what-ya-got act is heading back to Orlando in October, with performances at The Abbey and Firestone Live.
Rock Hard Revue is returning to the local stage in what the production company is promising will be all-new performers, including a special Halloween tribute.
In the meantime, though, the organizers are also looking to hire some new hunks.
The Rock hard Revue team will be hosting auditions for male dancers on Monday, Sept. 29 at 9 p.m. at RhythmX, the Zumba dance class studio at 4081 LB McLeod Road, Suite A, in Orlando.
The company is looking for male entertainers “for immediate hire,” as they noted in a news release.
To qualify, the guys need to be at least 21 years old, no less than 5 feet 10 inches tall, and have the ability to learn choreography.
It didn’t say so in the advertising, but it’s safe to presume a rock hard physique is also a major qualifier.
Anyone interested in auditioning should show up prepared to perform a dance routine.
Rock Hard Revue also announced that it would start performing weekly shows in the City Beautiful starting in January 2015.
In the meantime, those familiar hunks are headed to The Abbey, the theater at 100 S. Eola Drive, on Saturday, Oct. 4. Doors open at 8 p.m., and the show starts at 9.
Then on Saturday, Oct. 25, they move to Firestone Live at 578 N. Orange Ave. The Firestone doors open at 7 p.m., and at 8, it’s showtime.
As the Rock Hard Revue team noted, the national exposure their guy received from “America’s Got Talent” Season 9 means their dancers are even more fired up to entertain than ever before.
“Rock Hard Revue is impressing audiences with its 90-minute fully costumed and choreographed production featuring sexy male performers, live vocals and audience participation that brings the show to life,” the team noted in a release.
These shows were directed and choreographed by David Greenhouse, who got his teeth taking on similar chores for the “Chippendales” shows in Las Vegas.
Greenhouse was assisted in the choreography by Joe Manganiello, who developed his skills at male revue shows through “Le Bare” in Dallas.
In recent years, Rock Hard Revue has become a big hit for girls’ night out events, as well as birthday and bachelorette parties.
Rock Hard Revue is now offering discounted tickets in advance for $15, while the ticket price rises to $20 at the door for the Oct. 4 show.
Tickets are $20 in advance, $20 at the door for the Firestone show, and VIP and Preferred Seating are also available.
