Pet Memberships Return To Mennello Museum

ORLANDO — Dogs love long walks, playing catch ball and chewing up a stuffed toy … but do they love art?

The Mennello Museum sure thinks so, which it why the museum at Orlando’s Loch Haven Park is once again inviting pet owners to take advantage of their Pet Membership program.

New and returning Pet Members are also being invited to help the Mennello celebrate its very first pet event, which is coming up in October.

What is the Mennello Museum’s Pet Membership Program?

The Mennello Museum of American Art at 900 E. Princeton St. offers a pet membership program for dogs and cats, giving those pets perk they’re sure to love: the pets get to explore the museum’s Marilyn L. Mennello Sculpture Garden and attend pet-friendly events for free.

By joining this program, there are numerous perks. Member Pets get featured on the museum’s website, and pet member parents have received a 10% discount to local restaurants with dog-friendly patios.

For the $25 membership fees, you also received a personalized membership ID, a custom bandana, and a special pet-friendly and informative monthly e-newsletter.

“Mennello Museum of American Art is excited to announce that our Pet Membership and Pet Events are back!” the museum noted.

Pets are not allowed inside the museum, but the Mennello is certainly eager to welcome pets at their Sculpture Garden.

The Mennello “is raising awareness for our Marilyn L. Mennello Sculpture Garden, and we’re offering your dog the unique opportunity to become a Mennello Museum Pet Member!” the museum notes. “Enjoy the art in our Marilyn L. Mennello Sculpture Garden, and be around other pets and pet parents who share the same interest in supporting American Art and educational initiatives.”

The first upcoming pet event at the museum will be the Barktober Festival.

What is the Barktober Festival?

Barktober Festival will be the museum’s premiere pet event. Scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 6 and being held outdoors at the Sculpture Garden, this is an opportunity to “surround yourself and your pets with local vendors and fur-tastic activities while supporting the museum, art education, and programming,” the Mennello notes.

The Mennello Museum of American Art and its exhibitions are supported by the City of Orlando and Friends of the Mennello Museum of American Art, with additional funding provided by Orange County Government through the Arts & Cultural Affairs Program, and United Arts of Central Florida.

The museum is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4:30 p.m., and closed on Mondays and major holidays.
