Pet Fest in Polk County on Dec. 4

WINTER HAVEN — In an effort to find loving homes for cats and dogs at their shelter, Polk County Animal Control is hosting its annual Pet Fest in December. This should be a purr-fect event for pet lovers.

Pet Fest will be held on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Animal Control’s facility at at 7115 De Castro Road in Winter Haven, located right off the Polk Parkway Winter Lake Road exit. Best of all, at this event the pet adoptions will be free.

During this family-friendly event, visitors will have an opportunity to take advantage of having their new pets get treatments that include:

  • Spay/neuter
  • Rabies vaccination
  • Microchipping
  • A county license.

  • If you already have a pet, TLC Petsnip will be available at this event offering low cost vaccinations, so get there early while supplies last. There will be plenty of fun activities to enjoy during the day, including:

  • Tons of vendors attending this event
  • Food and drink trucks
  • Pet-friendly products for sale
  • Kids’ activities
  • Face painting
  • Balloon artists
  • Pony rides
  • A petting zoo
  • and train rides.

  • Santa Claus is also going to be on hand, available to greet the kids and take some “Pets with Santa” photos.
