Polk County detectives have released this photo of the "Pray For Death" tattoo on the right forearm of a woman found dead in Polk City.
POLK CITY – The tattoo said “Pray For Death.”
Tragically for the women who got that tattoo on her arm, that’s exactly what happened.
Polk County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are now investigating the discovery of the unidentified woman’s body just outside of Lakeland. Detectives are calling this a “suspicious death” and are asking for the public’s help in finding out what happened to the woman, and who she is.
As part of the investigation, the sheriff’s office has released to the media a photo of the tattoo on the inside of the woman’s right forearm, in the hope that someone recognizes it and contacts law enforcement with information about the woman’s background.
The investigation started around 2 p.m. on July 10, when the Polk County Sheriff’s Office got contacted about the body of a female that had been discovered in the area of Walker Lane and Berkley Road in Polk City.
When detectives got to the scene, they found the body.
“Her death is considered to be suspicious,” noted Carrie Eleazor, public information officer for the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. “Her race and age are unknown.”
The sheriff’s office has released information about several distinct identifying features that the woman had, including that tattoo of the phrase “Pray For Death” on her forearm, as well as a second tattoo of the word “Love” on the outside of her right hand in the webbing between her thumb and index finger.
The woman also had a cross, skull and crossbones symbol, and a ruby gem belly button ring, two piercings on the top of her left ear, and two piercings on both side of her bottom lip.
